The dirty truth

Your panels are quietly losing you money

Solar panels are "self-cleaning" in theory. In reality, dust off the plains, salt off the bay, pollen and bird mess build a film that blocks light — typically 5–15% of your output, more in dusty or coastal spots. Every day you leave it, right across the Geelong corridor.

Dust & pollen

A thin film you can barely see shaves output off across a dry Lara summer.

Bird mess & lichen

Droppings and growth make hard shaded spots that can knock out whole panel sections.

Silent bill creep

You never see it on one day. You feel it as a power bill higher than it should be, for years.

How it works

Watch what happens

Dirty panel in, clean panel out — and the output gauge climbs back to full. Three simple steps.

Drag to clean a panel

Good to know

Questions, answered

Do you service my suburb?

We cover the Geelong corridor — Lara, Little River, Corio, Norlane, Lovely Banks, Bell Post Hill, North Geelong, Geelong, plus Anakie, Batesford, Avalon, Moolap and surrounds. Not sure? Pop your suburb in the quote form and we'll tell you.

How often should panels be cleaned?

For most homes around Geelong, once or twice a year keeps output strong. Near the coast, the plains, farmland or heavy dust, more often pays off. We can remind you.

Can't the rain just clean them?

Rain rinses loose dust but leaves the sticky film, bird mess and edge grime that actually cost you output. Rinsed isn't washed.

Do I need to be home?

Usually not — as long as we have safe access to your panels and a water tap. We send before-and-after photos so you can see the job done, even if you're at work.

Will it void my panel warranty?

No. We use a pure-water, soft-brush method made for solar glass — no harsh chemicals and no high-pressure blasting that could damage panels.

Is it insured and safe?

[GET FROM CHRIS — confirm insurance + safety setup, e.g. public liability, working-at-heights]. We'll spell this out clearly here once confirmed.

How and when do I pay?

[GET FROM CHRIS — confirm payment methods + timing, e.g. pay after the job by card or bank transfer]. Whatever it is, the price is fixed upfront.

Is the price really fixed?

Yes. We show you the price before we start and we stick to it. No surprise add-ons, no “while we were up there” charges.
